Intermediate Course - Clay and Vases

Spring is on its way, the perfect time to create! In this intermediate course of three three-hour lessons you will learn how to combine simple wheel-thrown shapes into larger, functional vases ideal for your plants.

We will begin with a mood board of reference images to design your vessel, then move straight to throwing.

1 April: Design and throwing
Sketch the vase and throw each part on the wheel.

8 April: Assembly and detailing
Join the pieces at the leather-hard stage and add decorative or functional elements.

15 April: Final glazing
After the first firing, add colour and personality with glaze.
