What you will learn
The Basic Wheel-Throwing Course consists of three lessons, each lasting 3 hours, designed to guide you through every stage of creating a ceramic piece using a professional Shimpo wheel.
Lesson 1: You will learn how to prepare, center, and shape clay (stoneware) on the wheel, acquiring the fundamentals for creating simple forms.
Lesson 2: You will refine your piece at the leather-hard stage, perfecting the details and, if desired, adding a handle, as in the case of a mug.
Lesson 3: After the first firing (bisque), you will apply glaze by dipping and then fire the final piece at cone 6 (1200°C).
All tools, firings, clay, and glaze are included. You can collect your finished piece after one week.
